Database and Project Management
Database and Project Management
Summary: In many of my positions, I have been responsible for building the necessary infrastructure to carry out communications, fundraising, and evaluation strategies. Through this work I have led the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, design and adoption of project management software, and the architecture of custom databases within Salesforce and Access. Below are a couple case studies from this work.
Custom Database & Data Systems Transformation: An organization sought a cost-effective, user-friendly solution to track impact data across programs but faced challenges due to decentralized data and limited staff buy-in. I conducted a comprehensive data audit to assess existing systems, identify gaps, and clarify data needs. Based on my findings, I designed and implemented a custom database in Access, later transitioning it to a tailored Salesforce solution as the organization scaled. I also established SOPs for data collection and maintenance and developed a staff training program. These efforts streamlined data management and strengthened the organization’s ability to leverage data for fundraising and decision-making.
Membership Systems & SOP Development: As a Development Associate, I led the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for core development processes, including prospecting, grant applications, and reporting. To support implementation, I built project trackers in Asana and developed onboarding guides to help staff adopt the new systems. I have played a key role in rolling out these tools organization-wide. Early results include significantly improved tracking and coordination, with leadership noting that the team is the most on track it has been in three years to complete renewals for its 44 member organizations.
